Padding a Dress form for your Unique Shape

When starting your corset journey you will need a custom dress form that perfectly mimics your shape. This is an easy inexpensive way to pad a dress form to your specific over bust, under bust, waist, and hip measurements without spending thousands on a custom dress form.

You will need:
Fiber fill
bra cups that are your size
needles
thread
measuring tape
zipper
marker

 First:
Thread trace a CF and determine the length from NL to low hip line
Second:
Pin the thread traced CF to the CF on the form from 2" from the forms NL to the low hip line
Third:
keeping the hem parallel to the floor wrap the form like a tube and pin at the CB
Next:
Make darts where needed (use your judgement) this should look like a body not a bag.
 Next:
add cups. NOTE...if you have A or B cups then the cups will be farther apart (look at your bra) if you have D cups or larger the cups should touch at the center.

NOTE: Make sure you add more darts as needed and always adjust the fit as you go
Next: hand baste and put in a zipper (do not sew on a machine)

Next.
Make a covering for your new form

Now you are ready to drape on a more realistic form!!!
